Since I received a text at midnight on Dec 31st wishing me a happy 2013, I have sometimes mistakenly written 2013. New Years are good times for champagne, PBS mini-series (when you are sick on the couch), and reflecting on the year that has past.
2011 brought a lot of changes.
I finished up my editorship at Indiana Review, and started teaching at IU South Bend. I got married in California and moved to Chicago. I learned to drive stick shift and how to keep composting in a apartment in the city. I also saw my first published poems in a few literary journals.
Thanks 2011. I’m excited for what new things 2012 has in store.
Poem for you to Enjoy by Amy Clampitt because today I was doing some thinking and writing about rubber trees
